A few posts ago, I wrote all about how the trend in television has been shifting. The shift has been towards more and more exclusive content being created by the online content streaming companies like Hulu and Netflix.
Most people who I have talked to, including How To Get It In Canada readers, all agree that the this trend is here to stay.
To further support that the online streaming websites are going to continue to invest directly into creating high quality programming and releasing it exclusively through their own distribution channels I want to bring to your attention a new show call Quick Draw.
That’s right, Hulu is at it again. They just released another new hulu original series called “Quick Draw”.
The fact that Hulu has released yet another original series it’s more important than ever, as a Canadian (or anyone not living in the U.S.A.) to learn how to workaround hulu’s block that they place on their site when someone tries to access hulu from outside of the U.S.A.
Now, I haven’t watched any of the two Quick Draw episodes that are currently available to stream on Hulu but the premise of the show sounds interesting.
The show appears to be set back in the wild west days where gun slingers and sheriff’s went toe to toe with the law being the only thing in between them.
In this day and age the sheriffs did not have all of the fancy scientific forensic tools, like you see on CSI, at their disposal. Many cases were put together on circumstantial evidence, eye witness accounts and gut feelings.
What Quick Draw on Hulu appears to be venturing into is the world where the sheriffs started to use science to make a case.
The show looks to be built around Sheriff John Henry Hoyle, a Harvard graduate, who takes over as the Sheriff where he start to introduce his deputy and the criminals to the emerging science of forensics.
I have a feeling that this show will mix the perfect amount of comedy in along with captivating criminal storylines with a freshness that we’re all looking for after many years of high scientific crime dramas like CSI, NCIS, etc.
The best news about the latest original series to hit the Interwebs is that you can watch Quick Draw on Hulu in Canada using HMA.
Here is what it looks like when you try to watch Quick Draw up here in Canada on Hulu before and after you have HMA turned on:
