I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but there is a new trend developing with TV shows and both Hulu and Netflix are doing it.
Of course I’m talking about exclusive content.
In 2013 alone, Netflix has released Arrested Development Season 4, House of Cards and Orange Is The New Black, Hemlock Grove just to name a few (here is the full list of Netflix original content).
Netflix isn’t the only player in this exclusive online content game as Hulu has released The Awesomes and East Los High to go along with the following list of shows exclusively on Hulu:
Now, the great thing about the Netflix original series is that they are available in your standard Netflix Canada library.
The same cannot be said for the shows that are exclusively available on Hulu since Hulu is not available up here in Canada.
So, how can you watch Hulu exclusive shows in Canada? Well, you need to know this trick!
What do you think about this trend where the online content delivery companies like Netflix and Hulu are starting to produce their own exclusive content? Is this the beginning of the end or the final nail in the coffin for traditional cable TV companies?
If you were able to get Hulu in Canada and access Netflix USA would you consider canceling your cable TV? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Absolutely here to stay. Cable won’t die right away but it will be a long slow death.

I’m not sure cable will die all together but if it does I think you’re right in saying it’ll be “a long slow death”.

I agree with Nicole, exclusive online content is here to stay. I love the Netflix model of releasing the whole season at once so I can binge watch on a lazy Saturday. I say “keep it coming!”
Brent says
I hear ya about the “binge watch”. I’ve had a few of those over the years.
Aldo says
This television model is NOT going anywhere.
Brent says
I have to agree with you.
