The Essential Guide To Watching Latin American Netflix In Canada

How To Watch Latin American Netflix In CanadaIf you’re looking for Spanish language TV shows, movies, documentaries and more then look no further than Latin American Netflix in Canada.

Before you leave a comment or email me saying “I live in Canada and I can only access the Canadian version of Netflix” I’m going to let you know that it is possible, through the magic of software, to virtually reside in other countries around the world and access the local Netflix library in which country you decided to virtually reside in.

For example, if you choose to virtually reside in Chile you will be able to watch Latin American Netflix in Canada.

The biggest benefit of being about to access the Latin American library is the Spanish language content.  This content appeals to many people who, obviously, speak Spanish but it also appeals to people who are learning how to speak Spanish since they will not only be able to watch Spanish shows but they will also be able to watch shows like Grey’s Anatomy that have Spanish sub-titles.

I don’t claim to be anywhere close to being able to speak Spanish but when I was little I spent a lot of winters in Mexico with my family and by watching the US TV shows with Spanish sub-titles is the reason I became conversationally fluent back in the day.  If only I could still remember it all now!

So, you’re here because you want to be able to watch some Spanish TV and I’m here to show you how.  So let’s get started.

Step Numero Uno

I mentioned before that this is all made possible by the magic of software that allows you to virtually reside in another country around the world.

The software is a Pro VPN that, once connected, re-routes your internet connection through one of their many hundred secure and encrypted servers around the world.

By doing so it will appear to any website that you visit that you’re located in that country rather than where you are actually located.  This will allow you to circumvent the geographically based blocks that websites place on their sites.  It’s important to go with a Pro VPN that is stable and has been in business for a long time.

The Pro VPN that I personally use and highly recommend you use as well is commonly referred to as HMA.  Once you have signed up and downloaded HMA you can move on to the next step.

 Step Numero Dos

Now that you have downloaded HMA you’re going to want to get it set up so you’re virtually residing in the country where the Latin American version of Netflix is available.  For the purpose of this guide I’m going to use Chile.

Once you have launched HMA you will want to click the drop down menu in the Quick VPN Country Change section and choose the location in Santiago, Chile.  It will look like this:

Choose Chile When Setting Up To Watch Latin America Netflix

Click the green “Connect to VPN” button and let HMA work it’s magic.  Before you know it your computer will be virtually residing in Chile making the Latin American version of Netflix available for you to watch all the way up here in Canada.

On the HMA dashboard you will now see your new IP address and your ISP location (as well as your original ISP location).

Your New IP Address is in Chile

If you want to verify that you’re actually virtually residing in Chile then click on the “verify new IP address” and it will load up a page that shows you your IP address as well as a map of where that ISP is located just like this:

Santiago, Chile

Alright, you’re good to go onto the next step.

Step Numero Tres

Head on over to Netflix and log into your account.  You will likely see that Netflix is now in Spanish:

Do NOT be alarmed if you’re still seeing the Netflix website in English as opposed to Spanish.

There is a drop down right beside the login button where you can change back and forth between English and Spanish.  My Spanish reading is very rusty so I’m going to switch it back to English for the rest of this guide.

Once you’ve logged in you will see that there are some shows in Spanish that show up:

Some Spanish Shows

But That’s Not All!

If that was all you got, a few Spanish language shows this wouldn’t be worth it but the great news is you get WAY more TV shows and movies in Spanish which are all accessible from Canada thanks to HMA.

If you click on “TV Shows” for example it’ll take to the page where it shows all the TV Shows.  Click on “TV Shows” again and a drop down box will appear that says “subgenres.”  By clicking that drop down box you will get the option to select “Latin American TV Shows” like shown here:

Subgenres Latin American TV Shows

Now you’ve hit the mother load!  Check this out:

Latin American TV Shows On Netflix From Canada

You can also click on the “genres” tab in the top navigation menu and choose “Latin American” and then you’ll also get the option to further segment into different subgenres as well.

The subgenres available in this section are Argentinian Movies, Brazilian Movies, Latin American Comedies, Latin American Documentaries, Latin American Dramas, Latin American TV Shows and Mexican Movies as can be seen here:

Subgenres Available

Conclusion – Now You Can Watch Latin American Netfilx In Canada

By using HMA to virtually reside in Chile (or another Latin American country) you will be able to log into your Netflix account and access the large library of Spanish TV shows, movies, documentaries as well as Portuguese language movies and TV shows as well.

If you have found this guide to he helpful and you think your Spanish or Portuguese speaking friends would like to know how to virtually reside in a Latin American country so they too can watch Latin American Netflix in Canada please this guide with them on facebook.  Thanks!

You can turn HMA on and off so you aren’t locked into one Nerflix library or the other. So you will be able to access both language libraries. Thanks for reading and for your comment.

You will follow the same steps from above where you will use HMA to virtually reside in Latin America. As for the Apple TV, you will need to get a DD-WRT enabled router where you will install HMA. Then everything connected to this network, including your Apple TV will be virtually residing in the USA. Thanks for reading and for your comment.

You should be able to. You might need to install HMA on a DD-WRT enabled router so your smart TV can connect to the WiFi network that you have virtually residing in the USA thanks to HMA and the special router.

Yes, you can get this working on your Xbox. You will need to install HMA on a DD-WRT enabled router and then have your Xbox connect to that router. Let me know if you need more help.

Not From Canada? It’s Okay!

Please Note: All of our guides were written using Canada only as an example. The same steps should work from anywhere outside of the USA. Enjoy!
